Community, Collaboration, and Continuity During COVID-19

welocalize April 8, 2020

It’s a challenging time for everyone. COVID-19 has caused unease around the world and with people on lockdown and travel restricted. Now is the time for thinking creatively on how we communicate, keep businesses operating, and support those who need it most.

Our awesome teams around the world are coming up with ways to collaborate and socialize during a difficult period of self-isolation and social distancing. Tough times bring out great strength in teams and individuals.

Park IP, a Welocalize company, would like to share some of our community spirit to bring smiles and inspiration and to demonstrate our commitment to community, collaboration, and continuity during the COVID-19 pandemic.

WORKING TOGETHER WHILE STAYING APART

Virtual meet-ups are helping people feel connected, sharing some much-needed laughs.

“So PROUD of our Legal Team for their hard work and contributions every day, while staying connected and close!” – Renée Inman, Senior Director of Global Sales, Legal Services

WHO DOESN’T LIKE A GOOD QUIZ?

Using Kahoot! and Microsoft Teams, one of our interns, Niamh has developed a series of virtual weekly quizzes for our remote global teams. Here she is as quiz master.

DISCOVERING HIDDEN TALENTS

Jordi Pons, a Project Manager from our Welocalize Barcelona office, performed a virtual concert to 100 Welocalize employees. Jordi’s performance was astonishing and he sang six songs in Italian, French, English, Catalan, and Spanish.

NEW OFFICES = NEW VIEWS + SPACES

With so many people now working from home, we all have new office views. What does the world look like from your window?  As well as social media, online spaces allow people to share photos so colleagues can visualize new work environments.

Here are some gorgeous spring blooms from a home office window in California.

I am touched by our global colleagues, who extend greetings to us via videos, e-cards, and warm words. We’re sharing the pictures and videos on WeChat and are proud of being part of the Welocalize family. The team in China believe the words, You will never walk alone.’”

NEW OFFICES = NEW WORK COLLEAGUES

Many team members are sharing photos of who they now share their office with. Some of them are quite furry!

SUPPORTING TRANSLATORS WITHOUT BORDERS

Welocalize staff continue to support Translators without Borders especially now, as demand is high for the right healthcare information to be available in multiple languages. Donations and translator signups are most needed.

FINALLY, PLEASE LOOK AFTER YOURSELF + STAY CONNECTED

And last, in these turbulent times, we wish you health and strength. Please look after yourselves, your families, and your communities. Stay safe and well.

You cannot control what happens to you but you can control your attitude toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you.’ – Brian Tracy
