Park IP Translations 2016 Year in Review

2016 Bulb SignPark IP Translations has worked closely in partnership with many law firms, corporate counsels and global brands in 2016 to ensure their patents, intellectual property (IP) portfolios and legal assets are protected in all languages, geographies and jurisdictions.

Park IP Translations is a Welocalize company, the 7th largest language service provider in the world according to independent research firm, Common Sense Advisory (CSA). In this past year, Welocalize now has more than 1,000 employees and 21 global offices.

As 2016 draws to a close, we look at some of the highlights:


In May 2016, we acquired Nova Language Services (NOVA). Headquartered in Spain, Nova is strategically important to Welocalize and Park IP Translations’ in growing our portfolio of regulated industry language solutions. The acquisition positions us to expand our global solutions for legal, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device companies and contract research organizations. In August 2016, we rapidly expanded our life science clients and solutions through the acquisition of another specialized market leader, Global Language Solutions (GLS). The company is headquartered in California. GLS are recognized experts in life science language services. This acquisition expands our offerings for life sciences, legal, regulatory and compliance, government and healthcare. Inc. Magazine placed GLS at No. 3,565 on its 2016 Inc. 5,000 list, an exclusive ranking of the USA’s fastest-growing companies. Both acquisitions, with more than 20 years life science specialization each, have formed Welocalize Life Sciences and together strengthen our ability to deliver exceptional language solutions across regulated industries.


In October 2016, Park IP Translations launched the Park IP Translations Plug-In for Relativity to help law firms and corporate organizations automatically translate multilingual e-discovery data held on Relativity, kCura’s e-discovery software platform. The plug-in provides users with seamless integration and access to Park IP’s machine and human translation services into more than 175 languages. Park IP Translations and Welocalize successfully achieved certification to the new quality management system standard ISO 9001:2015 for global operations across North America, Asia and Europe. ISO 9001 is the world’s most widely recognized standard for quality management systems and the latest version, ISO 9001: 2015 was published in September 2015. ISO 9001 help organizations consistently meet the needs of clients. In our commitment to quality, we are hyper-focused on ensuring our standards are up-to-date and consistently applied across our entire global organization.


Using a Net Promoter® Score methodology, Park IP Translations conducts a semi-annual client survey to measure our client’s satisfaction, as well as gather valuable feedback and insights. The latest survey showed that 95% of those questioned are likely to recommend Park IP to a friend or colleague. The NPS score from the November 2016 client survey was a remarkable +72, which puts Park IP Translations into the classification as a high performing organization by NPS standards. Park IP Translations sponsored and took part in a number of industry events throughout 2016.  This provided an excellent opportunity to connect legal translation experts from Park IP Translations with top legal professionals from law firms and multinational companies.  The team at Park IP were featured presentaters at many of these events.

Some of these key events we attended this year included the International Patent Forum, Annual Intellectual Property Law Conference, BIO International Convention, AIPPI Annual World Congress, IPO Association Annual Meeting, AIPLA 2016 Annual Meeting, London IP Summit 2016 and IP Service World 2016. These events enabled Park IP Translations to learn many of the top priorities for our clients and prospects, as well as share best practices on developing strategic legal language solution and how to best manage global IP portfolios.
